FASTag and CSCS certification
NHAI uses FASTag, an electronic toll collection system, to collect tolls in India. FASTag is an easy-to-use system. A reloadable toll tag provides an automated deduction of toll charges and the ability to pass through a toll plaza without making a monetary transaction. After the tag account is activated, the tag is mounted to the vehicle’s windscreen using Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The system is now used at more than 425 toll plazas across national and state highways.
CSC and NHAI have teamed up to distribute FASTags via the CSCS network. Customers can purchase and affix FASTags at toll plazas using the Digital Seva Portal, and VLES will distribute the tags.
Passport
With the help of CSC, the Ministry of External Affairs launched Passport Seva in rural areas across the country in 2014. The Passport Application Form can be completed and uploaded through CSCS, as much as the cost is paid and an appointment is scheduled for a visit to the Passport Kendra. CSCs across the country received 2.19 million passport applications in 2016 and 2017.
PAN Card
In conjunction with UTIITSL and the National Securities Depository Limited, CSCS handles new PAN Card application submissions (NSDL). When the PAN Card service was introduced in February of this year, it was for the CSCS. CSCS received 28.94 million PAN Card applications in 2016-17.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the government’s largest-ever campaign to clean up the country’s streets, highways, and other infrastructure, began in 2014.
